Halloween at the Fort

Last year, my family and I stayed at Fort Wilderness on Halloween! It was the first time we have ever stayed there and it was one of the greatest Halloween nights we have ever had. People kept on telling us that campers go all out with their decorations, and boy were they right!

We didn't really know what to expect since we had never been ON Halloween, but from staying there numerous times before, we knew that people decorated. When I say people went all out, I mean they went ALL OUT! Just look at this campsite that literally looks like it is straight out of Pandora:

Halloween night was so packed but golf cart trick-or-treating was such a unique experience. For those who don't know, you can rent a golf cart when you stay at Fort Wilderness and you can decorate it however you want. Well, on Halloween, everyone took to their golf carts to go from campsite to campsite for trick-or-treating. Almost every campsite had a bowl of candy to give out. All we did was drive through all the loops until we were too tired to keep on going! Here was our golf cart (we had some birthday decor on it because my dad's birthday is on Halloween!):

The other fun thing that they did one night was showing The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. We gathered over at the theater to watch the movie while we snacked on some food from the food truck. Towards the end, the Headless Horseman came for a visit! It was so cool to see him show up after the movie and to see him in person at the campgrounds. Check it out here:

Overall, visiting the fort for Halloween should be a MUST for anyone who loves Halloween. I'm going to add a bunch of pictures so you guys can see these amazing campgrounds. Let me know what you think!
